Bio
Paw Alomar always found himself looking up at the stars with his feet planted firmly in the soft soil of the family farm. Though the work was honest and enjoyable, he had a dream to propel humanity beyond its own grasp with the most humble of intentions. As a farmer, he understood that even the biggest endeavors had to start somewhere, and often started small. He wanted to be a miner- to collect and process resources that were essential for ships and space travel. In essence, he wanted to be a direct supplier of humanity’s ascension. No job was too small or too insignificant for Paw Alomar- so long as he had his 5 (or more) sons at his side.
Before he could fulfill his dream, the Great War struck and Paw Alomar was drafted to fight for the Gallente Navy. For years, he witnessed chemically-fueled flames burst from collapsing steel behemoths and ejected bodies freeze among the stars, hanging in the blackness like discarded marionette puppets. Whether it was behind a desk or even in black-ops, directly saving the lives of many, he never quite found his own soul fulfilled the same way he did when he dreamed of mining.
After almost a decade of fighting, Paw returned home and was ready to start his business, only to find his eldest son, Shamus, was drafted as well and went on to fight. For several more years, Shamus climbed the ranks in order to become an officer and a skilled naval combatant.
But that didn’t stop Paw Alomar from living his dream. He proposed his idea to the space bank and got a loan of a gorillion ISK as a startup fund. What did stop him from living his dream was when said loan was “borrowed” by his second eldest, Markeith.
In an astonishing single year, Markeith spent the entire loan on space hookers, space blow, and space gambling, all the while avoiding space STD’s and dodging gunfire from a pair of space mobsters aptly known as “Baby-Face Adam” and “Murderous Mike”.
The family reunited when Paw Alomar was stricken with the Space Plague, like many other space farmers. By his deathbed, he made his sons promise to fulfill his dream and start the mining company he always wanted- if not for him, then for the space bank, since the family was still a gorillion ISK in debt and the farm was being foreclosed.
Though Markeith may have been the cause of their problems, he also was admittedly the most business-minded of the family with his underworld connections. He stepped up as “mining director” with questionable intentions, even if they had to start with almost no money.
Though business was Markeith’s strong suit, money management wasn’t, of which was left up to the family’s estranged son, Garrett. With little-to-no emotional attachment to his brothers, he proved to be the least liable in frivolous spending.
Shamus returned from the navy to oversee security. No matter how efficient the business was run, Paw’s dream would be extinguished if his brothers succumbed to the raids of straggling pirates or conflicting militias. Though war was his mistress, “bros before hoes” was his personal motto.
Neil, the good son, who stayed at Paw’s side all these years, decided to bear the torch of his father’s spirit as the mining foreman. Neil’s nature was always to be as helpful as possible and lived up the being a rather hard worker. He had just returned from a short excursion with the navy after only being drafted 6 months prior. Neil was honorably discharged for his inability to emotionally handle combat.
Finally, Graham, the redheaded stepchild, was roped in under the threat of being sold into slavery for a quick buck if he didn’t help. Though he was of Paw’s blood, he was not of Maw’s, and the Alomar brothers never quite saw him as an equal, even with his fancy science degree.
With a mining barge, a cargo vessel, and a couple of mining frigates “acquired” thanks to Markeith, thus begin the Alomar Legacy: Mine Your Own Business.
