The T.A.I. corporation was grounded by likeminded individuals who in the pursuit of universal happiness, were driven to review the ethics and sustainability of established societal concepts.
It was through the avantgarde thinking of these individuals that New Eden was made to be prepared to act against the onslaought of an Artificial Intelligence dubbed "Dushbaeg". It denies any attempt to comunicate and coexist with the other races of New Eden.

The AI took control of a few regions of known space in a matter of days. Billions perished. Since, it has engrained itself in almost all regions of New Eden in one form or the other. Its ability to emulate industrial, military and even pirate capsuleer presence was overpowering.

Incited by the revolutionary concepts of the T.A.I. Corp., the Industrialists, the Army and even the Pirates joined hands and vowed to, each in their own way, give hell and retribution to the AI.

To this day, every little capsuleer is taught to remember the Unification Day, as the moment when destructive natural instincts like greed and pursuit of power took second place to human thought and true communion.
