The first Scythian king, Targitaus, was the child of the sky-god and of a daughter of Dnieper, a Minmatar slave to the house of Ardishapur. Targitaus escaped enslavement and found his way to an unknown planet where from the sky fell a set of four golden implements — a scythe, a yoke, a cup and a battle-axe. Regarding the yoke as an example of slavery, he passed it. Targitaus regarded the battle-axe as a weapon which brought indiscriminate havoc. The cup often was regarded as an instrument of peace. Targitaus embraced the golden scythe as a weapon that was used to harvest and to defend. With this he would choose to harvest evil from New Eden. Targitaus went on to be one of the best pilots in small and medium ships, combining speed, agility and firepower. Known as the “Scythian Horseman” for his ability in battle, his bloodline has become known by that name. In recent history, those who can trace their bloodline to Targitaus have been granted the right to regard themselves as “Scythian Horsemen” and must prove their worthiness to live up to the standards set forth by Targitaus. The Scythian Horsemen today are self-professed to be the guardians of the Minmatar ways and are willing to do whatever is necessary to destroy the Amarr and free the Minmatar slaves who are still within that kingdom.
