Even as we stand amongst the crowd, we know that this is not our place. We stand and watch as the sea of people wash in all around us, like waves being pulled by the tide. Watch as they ebb and flow, knowing it would be futile to try to stem this tide. Each one carries a small light, to help guide their way here. Each one only a tiny spark, but when combined it lights up the entire galaxy for all to see. There brilliance is almost blinding.

But it is not the light that draws us. It is the abyss the pulls at our soul. So slowly, we turn away. Even thou others have gone before us; we know not what lies ahead. Standing looking out into the unknown, a smile finds its way to my lips. Because I know this is where we belong, somewhere between the light and the shadows. We are standing on the edge of darkness.
