THE AGENCY
The IRS is a completely fictious bureau independent of and unconnected to any government or empire in the EVE universe. Currently the IRS stands as EVE's most efficient tax administration having redistributed 191% of the 1.4 billion ISK it has levied on 48 non-compliant corporations.

THE IRS MISSION
To provide taxpayers top quality service by helping them understand and meet their tax responsibilities, and by applying our self-created tax law with severity, bias, and extreme prejudice.

STATUTORY AUTHORITY
The IRS is authorized to carry out the responsibilities of "subjective tax collection" by it's own mandate pursuant to some obscure section of the Income Redistribution Code that will be made up if necessary. While no government or empire actually recognizes or supports our efforts, they also do not currently attempt to hinder us. Therefore, it is assumed that the IRS has full authority to administer and enforce the income redistribution laws, and to interpret and enforce those laws as it sees fit.

TAX ENFORCEMENT
In support of the overall IRS Mission, our tax agents serve the public by investigating potential criminal violations of the Income Redistribution Code and related financial crimes in a manner that fosters confidence in the tax system and compliance with the law.
