For a dark mist will wrap the boundless world,
East, west, and south, and north; and from the heavens
Will flow a mighty stream of burning fire,
And every place consume — earth, ocean, sky,
And sea, and pools, and rivers, and harsh Hades,
And heaven’s axis. And the lights of heaven
Will rush together, and take on a form
All-desolate. For all the stars will fall
Into the sea, and all the souls of men
Gnash their teeth, burning in the stream below,
