Azel Usoko, captain of the Thrasher-class destroyer Atolm, is a somewhat dour person who considers herself rather unlucky in the grand scheme of things. Despite this, she often throws herself and her ship into desperate situations and usually comes out on top. She notably fended off capsuleers testing themselves against her shortly after she graduated from the Republic Academy (with her having stolen from a wreck that didn't belong to her, thereby bringing it on herself) and was once pursued by a Fleet Firetail through six systems after having stolen again.
