Bio
Born and raised among the Khanid branch of the Amarr - TaVinci has always been troubled by the use of slaves by the Empire. It seems morally wrong. As a capsuleer he has sought a deeper and more complex understanding of why he has always felt repulsed by that ingrained part of his home culture.
Now however, he is much more disturbed. The testing of an alien weapon technology, destroying a planet and wiping out a colonial population by damaging their sun is unacceptable. Many Amarr, indeed many Khanid may find a way to excuse the Empire for this gross breach of morality, of decency and of ethics. TaVinci cannot.
While TaVinci will always be born Amarr, he has now chosen to begin the difficult path of leaving the Amarr Empire. It is his intention to realign himself, through the Sisters of Eve, with Gallente forces - even though he also disapproves of their excessive Capitalism, which is also immoral. It is not however equivalent to playing "deity" and destroyng a viable system, killing the entire population remaining in the system.
TaVinci will be seeking to slowly move his assets to a Gallente system, and establish himself there, finding solace in the faith practiced by the SoE and also seeking forgiveness from the Mimmatar, whom he has often harmed on behalf of the Empire in the past. If he could dissolve his own cultural past, he would.
[OOC: Can't tolerate it as a player. I find it incomprehensible that CCP, watching the present saber rattling of the Russian Federation somehow thought, in a game, that it was a good idea to have a pretend weapon that is more destructive than atomics are. I don't care what the storyline reasons are, not ok. I enjoy the game, but I am not a high end or even mid range player. I mine, I produce simple things that I sell and I do a little PVE - I have no interest in PVP whatsoever, but if there is some way I can service the needs of the non-Amarr factions, after this, I will.
It is unfortunate that there is no equivalent of the "betray your city" quests in EQ2 - which allow you to leave behind your faction, either good or evil, and join another, but lacking that, I will do everything I can to harm the Amarr at this point, and to further a Unvierse where such a weapon can never be used again. (and yes, I know that will ultimately mean leaving my starter Empire, which I have remained in happily for years - until the Turner Event.]
