The spoils of war are dictated by the victor. Jaesa Ahzidal was one such spoil. Moving from slaver to slaver, passed around like a toy, life never seemed more than degrading service to Serpentis pirates. It wasn't until a CONCORD patrol intercepted the shuttle convoy she was in that Jaesa learned what freedom was like. One person in particular, Kira Faye, caught Jaesa's attention. Kind and understanding of her past, Kira convinced Jaesa to join Sector Security and help fight pirates like the ones that...held her.

Months of working well together, Jaesa and Kira were assigned to a low-sec patrol. All seemed mundane--then the alarms sounded. They were pounded by artillery, an ambush! The smell of burning electronics, explosions. The last thing Jaesa saw before ejecting was Kira's pod being towed to a pirate cruiser. Then a flash of white. Podded.
