Bio
It was raining the day that I died.

My fuel technician had an off day, he mixed three-quarters radon instead of one-quarter radon in my shuttle's fuel supply. On the last leg of my flight to work I shifted into overdrive, slightly heating my fuel tank. Normally there's no problem with that, it's well within specs for my ship. But that day it ignited all of my fuel at once, which vaporized most of the front-end of my ship and shredded the rest of the shuttle, and me.

I mentioned rain? The pieces of my ship, and pieces of me, rained down on the orbital medical center where I worked. It was not a pretty sight, I've been told. Auto-collection bots recovered the debris, and from what was left of me they were able to reconstruct my consciousness and place it in a temporary data cell meant to hold a person's identity construct during deep brain tissue reconstruction surgeries.

What did that mean for me? I was stuck in a box meant for a temporary operation, except there was no body for me to transfer back in to. All I had to look forward to was a long term stay in a short-stay hotel. Kindof low on amenities. I had no arms, no legs, no senses, no anything, just text input and text output through a computer terminal.

After three days my insurance stopped paying for the data cell, so I signed up for service as a miner for the Federation Navy Assembly Plant to pay for my stay & save for a new body. But even more importantly, the Navy footed the bill to have my consciousness transferred into clones. Now /that/ has been a massive quality of life increase...

So, for now, I'm running mining missions. At least until I can afford a bigger and better ship to do something more exciting and profitable. But listening to music and watching ore fill up my mining hold's not a bad way to spend my days.

Whatever brought you to here my bio, I wish you good luck. Fly safe. & pro-tip: double-check your fuel composition before trying any fancy flight maneuvers. o7
