My earliest memory is of pounding a rock with a giant hammer nearly as big as I was. Naked, cold and starving. Steady pounding, all day long with only a crust of bread and a sop of gruel before bed.

The only thing that has changed is my hammer now is a giant noisy, machine grinding up asteroids and spewing them out as chunks of industrial ore. Well, also I am no longer starving. I have all the food I want. And I am no longer cold My machine has a comfortable climate conditioned operating office with nobs, buttons and flashing lights. But yes, still naked.
