Descended from a long line of Minmatar warriors both before and after the Minmatar Rebellion, parts of his family have nonetheless been darkened by the shadow of slavery until today. Hengest had a hard childhood, escaping from his Amarr masters several times only to be betrayed and returned to shackles and even crueler punishments, all of which only served to harden his resolve, his malice and hatred of the Amarr. His first kill was made at the age of fifteen, the brutal and sadistic keeper of his mother and sister. His sister had since escaped to become a renowned officer in Minmatar Intelligence, and it was through her endeavours that he was able to abscond.
Finally acquiring freedom in a hijacked capsule he made it to Minmatar space where he sought out the remnants of his ancestry and pledged to restore the pride and power of his clan. Although a determined and born fighter, he has something of the spiritual about him.
