Born to middle class family in the Gallente Federation, Nicholaus found out early on the value of isk. His family was not wealthy, however, they were not poor either, they had really just enough to scrape by with all their needs and a few luxeries.
Nicholaus' father, a proud veteran of the Navy, had a very stern parenting style. He was very rough and no matter what he did, it was never good enough in the eyes of his father. His father thought of him as a frale human being, and always judged Nicholaus very harshly.
Nicholaus' mother, on the other hand, was always looking out for him. Whether it be keeping his father at bay, or helping him financially buy his first ship, she was always there. He loved her dearly, and when she passed, his relationship with his family worsened.
Unable to deal with the onslaught of his father, he left to go out among the stars. He was expected by many to become a great military strategist, but had another path on his mind...
