I remember as a child watching the trails of the shuttles taking the ore to the freighters waiting in orbit. I remember the silent vibration that rippled across the surface of the airless moon at each launch that shook our little home. I remember the pride I had knowing that father was one of those shuttle pilots, helping move those much needed resources to all ends of the universe. I remember how he would bring me back trinkets traded to him by those freighter pilots for home made hootch, and the little shelf in my room that held my collection. I also remember the day the Blood Raiders came. I remember watching father's shuttle burn. I remember mother's screams. I remember the destruction they brought, the bodies stolen, the precious lives lost, and the hatred they instilled. I remember the long flight to the safety of the Federation. I remembered the fear, the face of the Sani Sabik, the devil himself. The child is long gone, I don't fear now, and now they will remember me.
