Born to the O'Mallard clan as Samuel Bartholomeu.

Growing up with 12 siblings, 5 brothers and 7 sisters, taught Sam a thing or three about combat, loyalty, duty, cunning, and love. Being 8 of 13 has its advantages. You're not special. Not an end piece. Nobody has any first expectations of you. Nor do they have any desire to see you remain younger than you are.

The coast of Sam's native land provided many opportunities for sailing and fishing - and all the mischief that comes along with those activities. Upon graduating from University, Sam was recruited into the Royal Navy. After 3 years he was promoted to Captain. It was during this time that he had a rather unfortunate incident with his commanding officer that involved a beagle, a pomegranate, and the Admiral's daughter.

After being ejected from the Royal Navy. Sam used all of his savings and a considerable loan from the family estate to launch his career as a capsuleer.

So far - so good.
