Imagine a past born from the brightness of our future
a brightness born from minds expanding
born from the radiance and friction of ideas colliding head on
When the light of civilization illuminated the furthest corners of the earth
our earth
we
at the pinnacle of technology
with our power we laid veins through the earth
veins to carry the blood of the land to every man, woman, and child.
for men, women, and children
consume
the blood of the earth
we shaped it into walls that held one thousand floors
we shaped it into toys and tools
it flowed through pipes and ducts
through throats and stomachs and veins
becoming our bodies.
but all those little constructs
naught but oases of order
doomed to dry
bound for entropy
and all the time and blood and power in the world can’t stop that
those little constructs
people, food and everything else
their numbers swelled to such great heights that they swallowed the earth whole
