Re En grew up on either cargo ships or mining barges depending where his parents were assigned to, his parents were dedicated ship captains. So he naturally became a mining barge captain once he was old enough, he tried other fields of work but he couldn't sleep without the creaking of bulkheads and the slow grinding hum of mining lasers. He went to the University of Caille to get his needed degrees and went straight back to mining, the solitude suits him.
