Samuel was no king's son, nor was he labeled as a law-abiding citizen. He was born a pirate, father a rebel against the Caldari's oppression. Upon growing up, he decided that he would follow in his father's footsteps, and became a pirate himself. Upon one of his many raids, he was captured by Caldari navalmen, and was put into trial. Instead of jail, he was offered a chance to put his piloting skills to use, and was granted his own ship and gear. He now roams around, doing contracts and mercenary work for whomever pays, but his main goal is to protect the people and give them the same second chance he received.
