ships in eve, are they spaceships or starships?

spaceship- a vessel capable of prolonged extra-atmospheric flight

starship- a spaceship independently capable of sustained travel at speeds faster than the speed of light

the average eve ship's warp speed is noted as 3.0 AU/s

AU = Astronomical Unit, which is the average distance from the center of the earth to the center of the sun

this in turn is equal to about 499 light seconds

499 (1 AU expressed in light seconds) x 3 (the number of AU most ships are capable of covering in one second while at warp speed) = 1497 light seconds per second (3.0 AU/s warp speed expressed as light seconds per second)

so the average ship in eve while "warping" travels at a speed roughly 1497 times the speed of light and given sufficient capacitor and navigational resources can maintain this speed over vast distance

eve ships therefore fit the definition of a starship,don't let anyone tell you diffent
