Born in a backwater neighborhood of a faceless hive city Gideon de DeFalco displayed an early aptitude at absolutely nothing. Lurking his way through early vocational training he made his way through adolescence by carrying complicated forms all over the city and posing as a "food establishment inspector" to get sustenance, while supplanting this by occasionally picking pockets and squatting in empty buildings.

When Engagement Officers from the Federal Naval Academy attempted to conscript DeFalco, they found him in the corporate headquarters of an entertainment conglomerate, where he had managed to fake employment by quickly walking down long hallways while tapping furiously at a PDA.

During his Naval enlistment period, DeFalco once again displayed an aptitude at absolutely nothing except avoiding work.
