As adept with starship technology as his grandfather was with computers, Daystrom found he could leverage his skills into greater fortunes by hard work and wise investments rather than by counting his laurels.

The combination of engineering brilliance, business savvy and promises of enormous wealth quickly caught the attention of his EVE University roommate, Jay Walker, whose wagon Elliot is more than happy to drag behind his star.
