Born the son of an Amarrian diplomat in YC 87, it became clear early on that he was an unusual child. Always asking why and how and never excepting 'because that's how it is' as a reasonable answer, he was labeled the family rebel from an early age. Ostracized by his peers, he withdrew into books as soon as he could read. His life began gaining direction early after a fateful meeting in YC 95, when his mother took him on her diplomatic mission to Girani-Fa. Amist escalating tensions between the Empire and the Federation, he met the only other young child within 20 A.U.: Je'frey, the son of a Quafe company executive. The two boys became instant friends. The boys had profound effects on each other's world views as they grew, much to the chagrin of both their fathers. When his father declared Je'frey persona non grata in YC 105, fearing for his son's faith, Komai enrolled in Pator Tech School with Je'frey, never looking back. An adopted son of the Sebiestor, he found his place, and peace.
