Dru and his twin sister Drusila Malice were both orphaned at the age of four when their parents were killed by a pirate raid at their expedition station in a Gallente Wormhole. Dru, who was born blind, was intrusted to his sisters care as their mother stored them away in an escape pod and programmed the auto-pilot to take them back to the heart of the Gallente Federation. Just a few moments after the pod cleared the launch tube there was a large explosion which damaged the pods warp units causing it to shift off course "crash-landing" in Clellinon. With their warp drive damaged and auto-pilot malfunctioning the kids were left to the cold mercy of space.

As luck would have it space was kind to them, as they came out of warp near Clellinon's Sun and the gravity began to pull them towards it's firey surface. In desperation Dru grabed the control helmet and managed to fly the ship safetly to the Clellinon - Center for Advanced Studies. It was here the children grew up...
