Arya Shigo was born in a typical developer family attached to one of the large Caldari-corporations and grew up as a Caldari corporation drone. Standard education, standard job, standard life. During her first years as a low-tier engineer however a random test revealed her aptitude for capsuleer-training and she was sponsored into the School of Applied Knowledge. After finishing her capsuleer-training she suddenly showed an independent streak and left her old corporation for good, founding her own one. Nowadays no-one is really sure what she's up to. Except for one thing: She will always be her own woman now.
