The EVE experience of the night; Passing through an acceleration gate with my ally, hurtled right into the midst of a band of pirates. Missiles crashing onto our ships, wrecking the shields and tearing through our armor. "Fall back!" - We attempt to warp out. My ally makes it out with his ship intact and I'm about to enter warp.. When suddenly a warp jammer disrupts my ships navigation computer which prevents it from warping. "I'm going down, I repeat, I'm going down. Save yourself!". I make a last ditch effort, overload all racks, pushing my armor repairers and armor hardeners to their limits. I align my ship to fly in opposite direction to the ships warpjamming me, activate my overheated microwarpdrive and just barely manage to break the warp jammers optimal range and warp out.
That was close. My shield was gone, my armor completely destroyed and my structure almost non-existant.
