Russian Federation is a country situated in northern Eurasia. It is a federal semi-presidential republic, comprising 83 federal subjects. At 17,075,400 square kilometres (6,592,800 sq mi), Russia is the largest country in the world, covering more than one-eighth of the Earth's inhabited land area. Russia is also the world's ninth most populous nation with 143 million people as of 2012.
SIBERIA
The territory of Siberia extends eastwards from the Ural Mountains to the watershed between the Pacific and Arctic drainage basins. Siberia stretches southwards from the Arctic Ocean to the hills of north-central Kazakhstan and to the national borders of Mongolia and China.[1] Siberia is 77% of Russia (13.1 million square kilometres), but has just 28% (40 million people) of Russia's population.
