Casting away his past, his family, and even his real name...Rictus stepped into the stars seeking to reinvent himself. Countless hours in front of the dim glow of instrument panels, and solitude of deep space have dulled some of the regrets and pain of his past, but when he sleeps, they haunt him. Round the clock he seeks, crawling through the stars trying to pass without the faintest ion trail to show he was even there.

Perhaps one day we will feel those wrongs he committed, or that were committed upon him, have been avenged. Perhaps he will have compassion in his heart to forgive them, or even dare to forgive himself. Maybe he will reclaim his position, and return .... and perhaps he will spend the rest of his days anonymous among the stars.
