From an early age, Kody had a strong love of flying. His parents Dan and Jacinta lived on New Caldari where Dan was a strong willed, determined and hard nosed officer in the Caldari Navy - all terms used to describe Kody Gloval by his parents, his instructors and his colleagues. His father was killed in service to the Kaalakiota corporation during his teens and his mother raised him until he enlisted in the State War Academy, after which she returned to Amarr Prime (her ancestral home).

Kody made few friends during his time in the academy, but those he did he was intensely loyal to. After graduating from the SWA, he began an almost obessesive investigation into his fathers death. Over time his frustrations grew at the many dead ends and half baked coverups. His disillusionment with the Caldari culture grew and after witnessing the coronation of the Empress Jamyl Sarum, he enlisted with the 24th Crusade and took up arms for the Amarr.
