The second son of the Aldren family, Vakos was dedicated to the Theological Tribunal and the Church at an early age, while his older brother Jatos followed their father's profession of serving in the Imperial Navy. Jatos was killed in one of the first Sansha Incursions, forcing Vakos to leave the church and join the Imperial Navy to keep the family's tradition alive. Though he regrets this unfortunate circumstance, Vakos has nevertheless taken to the life of a naval officer with vigor, and seeks to make the memory of his father and brother proud.
