Stefan, formerly of Funtanainen III, was a quiet and reserved engineer fresh out of trade school. His world was picture perfect until a Guristas pirate assault left his family's Industrial ship hulled and adrift out in the rimward fringe. A passing Caldari Naval patrol picked up the derelict on Gravimetric and proceeded to investigate. The boarding party found a sole survivor, Stefan, unconscious amongst the rest of his family. Following his recovery, Stefan entered a state of depression and alcoholism.

Thankfully, one of his friends, Kristobol, was passing through the Funtanainen system following his recent graduation from the State War Academy and decided to look Stefan up. Disgusted by the shell of the friend he used to know, Kris forcibly placed Stefan in a treatment facility to dry him out. 2 months later, Stefan emerged from his personal hell and grabbed hold of life once again. His quiet and reserved nature had been replaced with an intense and cynical personality.
