Personally, I believe this isn't reality at all. I believe we are all controlled by superior alien intelligences. Sure, they leave us be most of the time but then they come straight in and start messing with everything for a few hours, sometimes more, each day. Some are lucky; from the day they graduate life is easy; there are a few days of confused, random action followed by a sedate life. For others it's not so good.
