Once upon a time...

Carlos Marquez was born in a small shack on a Barren world, somewhere in the deep recesses of a backwater constellation. His father, Don Rodrigo Marquez, was the eldest of a small family of maiz farmers working arduously to keep himself, his wife, and his ten children from starving to death. At the age of eight, Carlos was involved in a series of misdemeanors that landed him in prison.

Carlos made his debut as a small time burro smuggler. The burro, a species little known in most of civilized space, became popular amongst the rich for having the most succulent cuts of meat. After a series of "closed curtain" shows involving this animal were uncovered by mainstream media, the demand for the infamous burro plummeted, leading to the demise of the donkey-smuggling empire Carlos had built from its roots.

Alas, Carlos was relegated to the nether-regions of space hunting for a new form to profit. And THAT, compadres, is where his new story has begun...
