Anmaris was born at a now defunct outpost on the frigid surface of Agaullores IV, Solitude, on the Federation-Imperial frontier, the only daughter of a mine operator and an aid worker. After enduring an early childhood filled with raids by Blood Raiders and Amarrian slavers, she was sent away to school in Bourynes, deep in high-sec space, at age 12.

Only a year later, she learned that her home settlement had been found deserted save for the corpses of five miners, each showing evidence of diabolical ritual torture, their bones gnawed upon by human teeth while they still lived, and one traumatized child, whose limbs had been mysteriously removed, whispering of hooded ghosts.

Two decades of inquiries on her part have produced only the odd tale of bogeymen, official indifference from the Gallentean security apparatus, and veiled threats from Amarrian potentates. Such things happen in the borderlands... in the dark of space, in a time of monsters, cowards and panderers.
