After that he went back to his father's home at New Caldari (his parents split after his father was caught with a Gallente diplomat while he was "trying to improve Caldari-Gallente relationships" ) One night after some wild partying with some Caldari friends he stole his father's Merlin, having little to none navigational knowledge he ended up in Yulai where he was arrested by Concord for "flying without a license and insulting a Concord official"

A couple of months in a Concord prision and some "Genetical Induced Reeducation" sessions later he was accepted at the Republic University where he finally got his Captain's License. Now he flies mostly Caldari and Galente Ships and Minmatars only when there's no other choice.
