Born a slave, Tahni was a favorite of her master, Shetis Bashir. As a young child, Tahni inadvertently came across a weeping Bashir mourning the untimely death of his youngest daughter. When Tahni attempted to comfort him, Bashir was touched, and took her on as a maid. In a sense, Bashir unofficially adopted her as a surrogate daughter, spending long nights reading and teaching her religion.

It all ended, however, when Minmatar terrorists attacked. Tahni was kidnapped, torn weeping from the body of Bashir by freedom fighters. She was swept back to Republic space, where for a time she lived as an orphan. The only thing to save her was the discovery by the Republic Military that she was capable of interfacing with a capsule. Tahni was trained by the Republic, but fled it as soon as she could, back to the Empire she called home.

While she found acceptance among several religious orders, her life in the Empire was always marred by her branding as a slave. Now, she wanders.
