Born on Sarum Prime to a wealthy but common family, Marcus Danayi was never satisfied with the life of leisure available to him.
From all over the Empire, he heard tales of Matari terrorists raiding worlds and stations, killing loyal citizens and stealing slaves from their masters, thus destroying their ability to advance in the eyes of God and earn eternal salvation for their souls. Angered by this wanton destruction of lives, Marcus spent his share of the family wealth to train as a pod pilot in order to protect all the people of the Empire, slaves and citizens alike.
He spent ten years serving in the Imperial Navy, learning combat tactics, weapon use, and other skills which would serve him well in his future career as a free pilot.
