Brok Hammer was born in a small nomadic Minmatar fleet known as Skuggan Rusa (The Shadow Rush). The fleet goes through great pains to remain hidden from the rest of the universe. Other than those born in the fleet, there are none alive who can claim to have seen it in person.
As is customary for children in the fleet, Brok did not receive his name until he showed aptitude in a particular field, which would later become his profession. His name was taken from ancient Minmatar lore in which Brok and his brother Sindri produce wondrous items worthy of the Gods themselves. Brok is a rare name only given to individuals of exceedingly rare talent.
Recently, a near catastrophic attack on Skuggan Rusa by pirates brought the elders of the fleet to realize that the fleet's technology is becoming outdated. In order to ensure the safety of the fleet, Brok and his cousin Sindri have been chosen to assimilate into the inner system societies to gather information and technology.
