Khanjar, meaning "dagger" in an ancient Earth language known as Arabic, is a descendant of the Saud family of the 19th through 21st centuries A.D. The Sauds controlled virtually all fossil fuel production after the Great American Civil war that was sparked by a rise and rejection of globalism, until oil became mostly obsolete for everything but machinery lubrication in the late 2100s.

In New Eden, Khanjar works as a mercenary, loyalty to none but his own corporation and their financial objectives. He does try to maintain positive relations with the major superpowers to facilitate trade and travel capabilities.
