Born blind Raziel was abandoned by his parents in an orphanage, as they did not wish his disability to taint their warrior bred reputation. As he grew older Raziel was picked on by many people around him for his disability and many times he had to defend himself against others. This gave Raziel much experience with fighting and his other sense and reflexes became highly attuned to compensate for his blindness.

Ambitious and wanting to take back his lost heritage, Raziel knew that the only way he could advance in social status was to join a Mercenary Corps. Many people laughed at him, believing that his blindness would prevent him from succeeding, but time and time again he proved them wrong as his hightened senses and reflexes made him a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield, often sensing where an enemy lay long before his compatriots would see them. Wanting to take his combat skills into the sky, Raziel successfully applied for the Caldari State War Academy.
