After barely surviving the horrors of the Von Braun, I felt ill and blacked out. I think I heard Tommy talking with someone and turned the escape pod around. The next thing I remember was waking up to find Tommy dead and some stranger trying to tell me I killed him after being possessed by some AI thing. Worse yet, he claimed the AI tried to turn space into cyberspace using the Von Braun's FTL drive.
After we returned, the FTL overloaded and in its configuration created a spatial rift and sent us to another galaxy! He was clearly insane so I killed him while he slept. Alone in the escape pod, I tried to contact Earth. Failing that, put myself in stasis.
I drifted in space for hundreds of years before being found by a group of miners. Unfortunately, they confirmed part of the story. Earth is unreachable in another galaxy. But I know I didn't kill Tommy. Maybe if I can find the Von Braun, I can find out what happened. Just as long as there are no worms. Or spiders.
