Born in Portsmouth, England, James T. Nelson (or Ragnarrous to his friends) is the son of Admiral Sir George Nelson, of her Majesty's Royal Britannic Navy. Since the very dawn of the British Empire, Nelson men have always been men of the Royal Navy, and it is widely believed that 'Ragnarrous' is a direct descendent of Admiral Horatio Nelson, who commanded the HMS Victory at the battle of Trafalgar in the 18th Century on Earth.
However, despite the pressure from his family to become a Naval officer, Ragnarrous was determined to do something different. At the age of 19, and at the risk of alienating his father, he moved away from England, and signed up to the Centre for Advanced Studies, in order that one day he might become a spacer.
These days, Rag runs a successful trading/merchanting business - trucking valuable goods across the cosmos in a neverending hunt for profit.
