Graduated from the Federal Navy Academy with a degree in starship systems engineering and the quiet confidence of someone who had never actually had to fix anything under pressure. This turned out to be optimistic.
A brief and largely undistinguished career in systems integration followed, mostly involving telling people that the explosion wasn't strictly his fault and that the schematics had been ambiguous. References available on request. Most of them are quite short.
Somewhere between the third incident report and the fourth strongly worded letter from the Gallente Industrial Safety Board, it became apparent that a career change was overdue.
Scrapping ships, it turns out, requires many of the same skills as engineering, just in reverse, and with considerably more fire. Bodged IT has taken to it with the enthusiasm of a man who has finally found a job where things are supposed to be broken when he arrives.
Current status: self-sufficient by necessity, flying a corvette named Blaze of Glory!! entirely on purpose, and building an industrial empire from scratch using nothing but salvage, questionable decisions, and an unreasonable number of spreadsheets.
Grand plans are in progress.
