Morgan le Fay: The Bloodthirsty Witch in the Arthurian Legend

In the dark chapters of the Arthurian legend, Morgan le Fay is no ordinary witch, but a bloodthirsty demon who uses blood as ink and cruelty as a blade. She is King Arthur’s half-sister, born to Igraine and her first husband, Gorlois, Duke of Cornwall. Consumed by ambition and resentment from birth, the magic she learned in Avalon was never used for good—it became a weapon for her slaughter and revenge.

Morgan le Fay had long coveted Arthur’s throne. Driven by jealousy and bitterness, she plotted relentlessly to drag Arthur into the abyss of destruction. Skilled in dark illusions and poisonous herbs, she once tricked Arthur into a hallucination, forcing him to encounter his own son Mordred (whom some versions claim is Morgan le Fay’s child). This sowed the seeds of the tragic Battle of Camlann, where Arthur was gravely wounded and countless knights fell in a pool of blood—all indirectly caused by her阴谋.

To completely strip Arthur of his chance to survive, she sneaked into Camelot under cover of night and stole the scabbard of Excalibur. The scabbard had once protected Arthur from fatal harm, but after seizing it, Morgan le Fay smashed it to pieces, stabbed captured knights in the throat with the shards, and daubed their blood on the fragments to mock Arthur for losing his immortality.

Her cruelty was not limited to Arthur’s camp. Knights who dared resist her dark rule were captured, their eyes burned out with red-hot irons, then force-fed poison to rot slowly in agony. Villages that refused to offer human sacrifices were cursed with plagues and floods. She watched villagers kill each other in despair, then personally harvested the survivors’ souls to strengthen her black magic.

Even when Arthur was mortally wounded, her act of taking him to Avalon was no kindness—she sought to drain his royal power and turn him into an immortal dark puppet. Her cave was piled high with victims’ bones, the walls soaked in dried blood, and the air forever thick with the stench of blood and decay, becoming a place of death that made all living beings tremble at the mere mention. Morgan le Fay wrote her legend with endless slaughter, becoming the most horrifying bloody symbol in the Arthurian tales.
