The Drifters had me, they came so close. My ship was a wreck, floating around for days near a wormhole, no engines, no shields, and then one of their scouts showed up. The ones that take corpses.
I heard about those, using corpses to bring more of their people back to life. Cybernetic monstrosities. I thought I was dead, and then I saw it explode, along with others like it nearby. They barely had time to react before they were charred wrecks floating like my Ibis.
I received a hail, it was The Corinth Clan. Ahlea Corinth, their matriarch and CEO, told me they were boarding and would get me out before my air was gone. How could I say no? They saved me from the Drifters and they saved me from suffocating.
I owe them everything, so while my surname wasn't always Corinth, as a way to say thank you, I have taken on that moniker, and now I fight by their side.
They were like me, just they got rescued from a Sansha attack. Not sure which is worse to be honest. Either way, we're in this together now.
