Before any of it — before EVE University, before null-sec — there was lowsec and a gas cloud and his son in the other seat. Cycle the harvester, watch the scanner, split what it was worth. Not strategy yet. Just where the two of them started, before either had anywhere else in New Eden they belonged.

He didn't fly into the fights that came after. He flew around them.

New to it all back then, barely past his rookie ships. He wasn't going to win any war behind a turret. But null-sec wars need more than turrets: ore, minerals, intel, a hold full of something that has to arrive without anyone noticing it left. That part, he could do.

He learned null-sec the unglamorous way — not fleet battles, but routes. Which gates were watched. When fast was wrong and quiet was right. How to carry something worth killing him for and not get killed for it. EVE University noticed eventually. The graduate medal wasn't for a kill count. It was for everything that kept arriving on time, through territory that wanted it late, or not at all.

Null-sec wars end. Wormholes don't.

He found his way into one eventually, half on purpose. What he found there wasn't ore anymore. Sleeper wrecks that didn't behave like normal loot. Drifter hulls that didn't behave like normal ships. Thera on his charts, more crossroads than system, and past it, holes leading to Drifter space itself — C13, pilots call it, official designation or not. Something about it didn't let go. He started reading: T3 production, subsystem theory, what it took to turn salvage into a hull instead of a paycheck. Then further out — Triglavian technology, weapons that didn't care what your armor was made of.

He never built a corp of his own. Didn't need to. Su Yon already had one when their paths crossed — small, quiet, exactly the kind of place he'd have built himself. He didn't apply. He just started being useful, and stayed useful long enough that it stopped being a question. These days he's who people go through to reach her, and who she goes through to get things done. Doesn't run the Order. That was never his to run.

The fascination stopped being curiosity somewhere along the way. Now it's production, salvage, standings built one careful kill at a time — not for a faction he loves, for the access it buys.

Ask Kohlra Galkaro what he's building and he'll tell you exactly what you need to know. Not more.
