Le Grande Experiment, is a french term meaning "The Grand Experiment".

The basic hypothesis being tested is that the 1m SP being offered, if injected immediately, only speeds up the approach to the 5m soft cap for ALPHA accounts. The 1m SP can sit in your unclaimed rewards, along with all the Air Career Rewards, daily login rewards, skilling spree rewards, injectors and other goodies until such time that the cap is reached naturally over time. If successful, I will be an ALPHA account with over 7m SP, the balance over the soft cap being injected from the various accumulated rewards.

Similar to the marshmallow experiment where people (famously performed on childeren as an early attempt to define their pesonality type) are presented with the option of one marshmallow now, or two if they can wait for some time later. Subjects are asked to sit in a room with the single marshmallow on a plate in front of them. The experimentor then leaves only to return fifteen minutes later. If the Marshmallow is still there the subject is rewarded with another one. It's the debate of instant versus delay gratification.

What would you rather be? A 5m SP ALPHA two weeks sooner or a >7m SP ALPHA forever?


***December 4th 2022, terms of experiment have been violated. With a week of free OMEGA time from CCP and two weeks beacuse some asshat followed my recruitment link. SP accumulation exceeded ALPHA 5m soft cap. Points were spent in OMEGA only skills. A second alt on this account will has been created (Guymandude) and will rack up SP for later extraction and reinjection to me. All Air rewards, login goodies, Project discovery rewards and loot will also go to me.
