Book IV
The Book of Wealth
The Word of Bob regarding wealth and profit as given to His Prophets

Two of the Chosen were destroying Sleepers in one of the Hidden Places of New Eden. Upon the destruction of the last in each site they found the Chosen would search through the wreckage of the destroyed Sleeper craft and take all things of value that were left undestroyed. Having emptied the wrecks of treasure, the Chosen would salvage the materials of value from the broken hulls. After all of value was taken they flew off in search of another fleet of Sleepers to destroy.

After a time of observing the Men destroying Sleeper fleets, Bob appeared before them and asked, “Why do you destroy the Sleepers and loot their wrecks?”

And the first Man replied, “I destroy the Sleepers to obtain things of value that I may become wealthy.”

And the second replied, “And I destroy the Sleepers as work of sacred Destruction and to obtain things of value that I may become wealthy.”

And Bob said unto them “And what is the purpose of wealth to you?”

And the first Man answered Bob, saying “I pursue wealth for the purpose of obtaining those things which give me pleasure and status. I am a good and hard-working servant of Bob and I deserve a good life. The purpose of wealth for me is that I may have good things and reward myself for my hard work and live a life of comfort.”

And the second Man answered Bob, saying “I pursue wealth that I may obtain many ships of combat to use in the work of sacred Destruction and I pursue wealth that I may obtain many things of great value and pleasure so that I may sacrifice them unto You.”

And Bob said to the first Man “Your answer displeases me, for you understand not the value of wealth. Your purpose for wealth is false.”

And Bob said to the second “Your answer gives me pleasure, for you understand the true value of wealth. Your purpose for wealth is true and honors me.
