Melusine is the grand daughter of a famous admiral of the Amarr fleet during the Jove war, where he lost his life together with the entire fleet under his command. This led the De Winter family to lose most of their priviledges.

While most of her degenerate cousins and brothers are busy dilapidating the remnant of the family fortune on various vices; Melusine's ambition is to restaure her name's reputation by finding glory in fighting the treacherous Minmatars and their Gallente puppet-masters.
