Bio
My strongest recollection of my childhood is the windblown steppes and wide open spaces of my home world. Vast grasslands, ringed by white capped mountains, hazed to a light gray blue by distance. The near constant winds the only sound, broken only by the sharp ringing calls of the Acshii raptors tethered to the gauntlet wrapped fists of the Burkitshi who rode the outer edges of the Clan as we moved.

Cool breezes snapping past me, my wind-blown hair tickling my forehead and eyes, as I watched one of the Burkitshi blow on on the intricately carved bone whistle clutched in his teeth: a loud, piercing sound. In one fluid motion, he yanked the hood from the Aschii's head and hurled the huge bird into the air with a gesture of his arm. The broad, powerful chest of the raptor, sheathed in metallic brown colored feathers, bunching and relaxing as the animal pumped it's broad wings to gain altitude.

I recall watching the raptor gain altitude with easy, steady strokes of its wings, imagining the intense gaze of the burnished gold eyes as it scanned the ground beneath, waiting for the teltale signs of prey moving through the feather grass. A flash of shadow – a peep of colored fur, anything against the bluish grasses of the steppe triggering the hunting instinct to STRIKE. Wings would fold, and death would hurtle silently from the skies.

I have always dreamt and imagined about how it would feel to be free, soaring and gliding through the air with deadly grace and coiled power, like the Acshii.

Here I am now. Near immortal, thanks to clone technology; soaring and gliding through space, the living heart of a machine. I now know, I am no more free than the Acshii. That freedom was a youthful fancy, I am tethered to my ships; the crews and passengers on board under my watchful eye - a deep, chaining responsibility, just as the Acshii was tethered to its Burkitshi.

Oh, do not misunderstand me; I have choices. I can choose what ship to be part of, I can even choose what I do when I do it, but I am eternally chained to them - my ships, my crews, my passengers. I can never go back, I would not even begin to know how to be normal. Like the Acshii, I am a weapon, my pod my thether, my ships the silent death in the skies.
