The Hi-Barren Guru is a title given to a head Dharma teacher within the Barren Sect. Teaching the Void - enhanced by augmentation, battle and solitary practice - the Guru upholds Amarr Orthodoxy while keeping traditional knowledge pathways intact for thousands of years. Rejecting the Slaver-Slave dichotomy, Hi-Barren Guru teaches individual responsibility.

He leads his main followers, The Barrens Advaita and Vox, in battle, exploration and retreat in the wilds of Ammatar and Derelik. His Khanid ancestry keeps him at a distance, but his loyalty is unquestioned.

The Barren compose a radical priest-sect of Amarr. Believing in the spiritual nature of augmentation and microbiological praxis, they trace their theology to their teacher Hi-Barren Guru. The lineage has deeper origins within the tribal beliefs of the Guru's Ammatar heritage.

They specialize in deep space warfare as well as fighting for overall Amarrian Orthodoxy, which protects their way of life. Travelling in fleets of their own, they quietly and artfully pursue their practice.
